Far North Side
North Park has had a somewhat stable history of gradual growth and development. The area was originally settled by German and Swedish farmers and developed into a residential area between 1920 and 1930.
The population grew even more after World War II and was stable due to the Covenant Hospital and other educational and civic institutions that still exist today. The area is considered somewhat unique in its unusual ambiance created by streams and a nature preserve.
North Park continues to be a stable and quiet neighborhood that is occupied by mostly middle-income residents.
